Visitors Program with Managers in Society
The Visitors Program is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of life as an MBA student at Smith. The program will include a class visit, information session, lunch with students, and a tour of the Smith School.
Please arrive on time, the visitors program will begin promptly at 8:15 AM.
Is business a part of society or is it apart from society? How do managers reconcile their responsibilities to their employers with their social, political and ethical considerations? Is there more to ethics than compliance with the relevant law? Is the corporation a person? Should it be regarded as a person?
Regardless of function or industry, all managers inevitably face ethical dilemmas. This course equips students with a framework that is useful for recognizing and resolving such dilemmas. Furthermore, students completing this course learn to recognize such dilemmas as not just problems to be overcome but as useful opportunities for exercising leadership in changing values and practices.
